COOBER PEDY, AUSTRALIA

This price list is both GENERIC and specific. The GENERIC categories are types of opal that we try to keep in stock. It is not unusual for us to be out of a GENERIC type. We can only buy what is available or available at a decent price. This is why we can be out of a category. Since supply fluctuates, we must quote average prices in ranges. Some lots purchased years ago are unable to be duplicated today. Sometimes we cannot supply at the advertised price. We have no control over world supply and demand or what is mined.

C701 Coober Pedy. Mine run potch and color. There are sleepers in this low-grade material and plenty of waste. Great for beginners who need cutting experience without worrying about how much you may lose. This is your parcel. $11.50 to 55.50 per oz.

C927 Coober Pedy. Typical Coober potch and color, mine run - a fancy term for low grade for beginners. 3 - 5 pieces per oz. Typical white base, some grey color in most pieces. All cutters like this because there is an occasional sleeper in this material. Ten oz. parcel, $150 to $175; otherwise, it runs between $9 and $35 per oz. depending on the quality that you want to cut. Besides regular cutting, you could carve smallish objects from this material very successfully. I have a hundred ounces of this material. Three ounces or more is 25% off the price. (availability in the larger sizes is irregular)
