High Value Rubs

LR02-111rubs2
LR02-111rubs2.

Rubs is an Aussie term for faced or partially cut stones that need final shaping and polishing. These crystal stones from Lightning Ridge, Australia, tend to show a straw pattern with varying colors; see pictures at left and below. The weights vary and the prices range from $35 to $75 per carat on a pick basis, with two exceptions, the black stones. Is this a good/excellent price?! YOUBETCHA!
If you are interested in the lot, please call us for a large-lot price. About ½ of this lot remains.

Our Other New Rough Opal

We are large opal suppliers who normally have quantity of whatever is arriving from the mines. We generally stock quantity of most of the items listed. For example, the parcels listed below average 30 to 50 ounces each, unless otherwise noted. Interested in quantity prices? Discounts depend on the quantity of opal you purchase. We keep our prices low because we turn over our opal quickly. We buy and sell quantity and get the best prices without expensive buying trips to Australia.

We feature high value parcels that are under the "going" price in the United States.

Coober Pedy – C0101. Light base, crystal base or seams, very bright (7–9). Various patterns (grassy green through liquid large pattern metallic flash). Clean. Multicolor, frequent red predominant. Cab or inlay. We think this is a high value @ $45 – 90/gram, and less in hobby grades.

Blue Jelly

L0107 Lambina produces a wide variety of materials. This reminds us of glacial ice because of the jelly base and blue color. Fire is muted and cuts an interesting, different look. Intarsia, inlay (?), and great cabbing. Some purple fire, unusual and popular. $7.90–19.90/gram.
